Cats love height.

Why providing off-the-ground hangout spots is essential to your cat’s health and happiness?

Cats perch high to study their environment.

Modern-day cats have not changed in the least, when compared with their common ancestor.

The first cats appeared about 50 million years ago (humans only emerged 200 000 years ago). Being both a predator and a prey, perching provides them a secure place to survive, that is track preys and avoid predators but also fulfills its curiosity.  The perched cat can grasp its vertical and horizontal surroundings in the blink of an eye.

In short, the cat needs its elevated vantage point to blossom, especially when it lives in houses or apartments without an outdoor access. A closed environment may cause anxiety disorder and pathological behavior.

The Cat Tree essential for indoor cats.

Feral cats and outdoor domesticated cats perch high up to study their environment and escape from their predators.

This instinctive behavior also applies to indoor cats. Off the ground spots provide them both entertainment and a private secure space to nap (remember the last time you cuddled your kitty, who didn’t feel that way and zoomed out of the room?). Height prevents your pet from boredom and anxiety that can lead to erratic behavior.

However, Cat Trees are not only ugly but offer limited height for entertainment and security.

Vets and breeders know how depressing the prospect of buying a cat tree can be to owners, for its lack of desirability and performance.

This is what The One Off® wants to change: create an exquisite and stylish object, that fits your interior aesthetics and provides significant height, comfort and security that your cat will enjoy just as much as Neron, Pia and Titus do.

We hope The One Off® will help you think differently about cat trees and pet accessories in general. As a cat lover, you will fulfill your pet’s well-being prerogative and satisfy your interior design’s sensibility.
